Privacy Principles

1. Our Core Philosophy: Zero Cloud

Anchor is designed from the ground up to operate entirely on your iOS device. We do not have servers that store your conversational data, transcripts, or mental health insights. We cannot read your therapy notes, and we cannot sell data we do not possess.

2. What We Collect (And What We Don't)

We DO NOT collect or store:

  • Audio recordings of your voice (processed in real-time and discarded).
  • Transcripts of what you say to Anchor.
  • The AI's responses or insights generated about you.
  • Your mood tracking history or physiological data.
  • Any personally identifiable medical information.

We DO collect (with your permission):

  • Anonymous crash reports (via Apple's standard diagnostic tools) to fix bugs.
  • Your email address *only* if you voluntarily sign up for our Beta waitlist or newsletter. This is stored securely via our mailing list provider and never linked to app usage.

3. How Your Data is Secured

All data generated within Anchor is stored natively on your iPhone using Apple's SwiftData framework. It inherits the robust security protections of iOS, including AES-256 encryption at rest. When your phone is locked with a passcode, FaceID, or TouchID, your Anchor data is cryptographically inaccessible to anyone, including Apple and us.

4. Third-Party Integrations

To provide the conversational AI intelligence, Anchor securely communicates with Large Language Model (LLM) APIs.

Crucially: We have enterprise agreements that strictly prohibit these LLM providers from storing your prompts or using your conversational data to train their models. Transcripts are sent ephemerally for processing via secure TLS connections and are immediately deleted from their servers once a response is generated. No user-identifiable metadata is attached to these requests.

5. Your Rights & Control

Because your data lives on your device, you have total control over it. You can:

  • Export your session summaries to PDF at any time.
  • Delete individual sessions.
  • Erase all Anchor data completely and permanently from within the app settings.

6. Contact Us

If you have deep technical questions about our privacy architecture, we welcome them. Email our engineering team directly at: privacy@anchorhealth.tech.
